How I help
Practical guidance for owners who are ready to improve performance.
I work one-on-one with committed business owners to assess the situation, establish priorities, develop a practical plan, and provide the outside guidance and accountability needed to execute it.
Businesses rarely become troubled because of one isolated problem. Cash flow pressure, declining profitability, missed commitments, weak accountability, operational problems, and employee issues are often connected. My approach is tailored to your business. It is not an off-the-shelf program.
Assess the current situation
We begin with an honest assessment of where the business is today and how it is performing. Together, we examine:
- Cash flow and profitability
- Financial and operational performance
- Leadership and organizational direction
- Processes and systems
- Current priorities and commitments
- Customers and sales
- Employee performance and accountability
The purpose is to distinguish symptoms from underlying causes and develop a clear understanding of what is holding the business back.
Identify the most critical issues
Troubled businesses frequently face a long list of challenges, but everything cannot be fixed at once. We identify and prioritize the two or three issues requiring immediate attention. Leadership commitment, time, people, and financial resources are then directed where they can have the greatest effect.
Other issues may have to wait. Trying to address everything at once spreads resources too thin, dilutes focus, and prevents meaningful progress on the problems that matter most.
Establish direction and develop the plan
Once work is underway on the immediate priorities, we turn to the longer-term direction of the business: where it needs to go, and a practical plan for getting there based on the results you want, your actual circumstances, and the available resources. The plan is converted into:
- Clearly defined priorities
- Specific actions
- Assigned responsibilities
- Required resources
- Measurable expectations
- Realistic timelines
A plan is only valuable when everyone understands what needs to be accomplished, who is responsible, and when it must be completed.
Execute the plan
Execution is where many business improvement efforts lose momentum. The plan must remain a priority while you continue dealing with customers, employees, operational problems, and the daily demands of running the business.
I help you keep the organization focused on the agreed-upon priorities and actions. Progress is tracked, obstacles are addressed, resources are adjusted, and changes are made when results do not meet expectations. The objective is not a perfect plan. It is a workable plan, put into action, measured, and adjusted.
Maintain accountability
Without accountability, priorities shift, actions are postponed, and the organization gradually returns to its previous habits. I provide outside accountability through focused weekly, one-on-one working sessions with the business owner. During these sessions, we:
- Review progress against the plan
- Confirm completed commitments
- Address actions that were not completed
- Identify and remove obstacles
- Evaluate performance measurements
- Adjust priorities and resources as needed
- Establish commitments for the coming week
These are not meetings for the sake of having meetings. They are structured working sessions designed to keep the plan moving and make execution a priority.
Work directly with the owner
My advisory relationship is exclusively with the business owner. I do not manage the leadership team or work independently with departments such as operations, sales, purchasing, or engineering. You remain responsible for leading the organization, communicating priorities, assigning resources, and holding employees accountable.
This approach strengthens your leadership and authority. I do not want to run your business. I want to help you become more effective at leading it.

Is this the right fit?
Built for owners of established businesses
My services are intended for owners of established businesses that are struggling, underperforming, or capable of achieving substantially better results.
Not the right fit for owners looking for a quick fix, a generic program, or someone else to run their business. This work requires active participation, difficult decisions, consistent follow-through, and a willingness to change.
This may be right for you if:
- You are constantly fighting fires.
- The business depends too heavily on you.
- Profitability or cash flow is under pressure.
- The same operational or employee problems keep recurring.
- Priorities are unclear or continually changing.
- Plans are discussed but not consistently executed.
- Accountability is weak.
- You know changes are needed but are uncertain where to begin.
- You are ready to take control and lead the business forward.
